- Repainting the window frames around a brick courtyard building on the Orange campus
We're back at the Charles Sturt University campus in Orange, this time on the window frames around one of the cream brick buildings. It's a two storey block set around a grassed courtyard, with long runs of windows on both levels and the campus tower standing behind it.
These photos were taken mid job, so what you're seeing is the work as it runs rather than the result. The crew are working along the ground floor from step ladders, a window at a time, with some of the casements swung open while they go.
Window frames are fiddly work. Every frame is a run of short edges against glass and brick, the glass has to come away clean, and with this many windows side by side any difference from one to the next shows straight away. There's also the rest of a working building to get around, like the air conditioning units under the windows and the covered walkway where the gear sits on drop sheets.
It follows our earlier work on this campus, on the facades, entry doors and stair nosings. Finished photos will go up on this page once the job's done.
