The story
How it started
John Murray grew up in country NSW. He started in the building industry when most people his age were still figuring out what to do with themselves. He tried different trades, got a feel for how buildings come together, and eventually found painting. It was the trade that made the most sense to him. The precision, the transformation, the satisfaction of taking a tired surface and giving it new life.
He spent years working in Sydney and across regional NSW, building a reputation for work that was thorough, reliable and finished to a standard most painters do not bother with. In 2004, he moved to Orange. The Central West suited him. Country people value reliability and honesty, and those happen to be the two things John cares about most.
Over the past two decades, Murrays Painting has completed more than 3,000 projects across the region. The business has grown steadily, not through advertising, but through referrals and repeat clients. About half the work that comes through the door is from someone who has used Murrays before, or who was told to call by someone who has.
John still handles every quote personally. He still inspects every job at the preparation stage. He still picks up the phone when you call. That is not going to change.

We are a team of four and a half. Small enough that John knows exactly who is on every job and what stage it is at. Large enough to handle a full interior repaint while keeping smaller jobs moving.
