What to expect
A feature wall lives or dies on its edges. A colour that stops in a wobbly line, or a stripe that drifts a few millimetres over three metres, undoes whatever the colour was meant to do. Setting out matters more than the painting: rooms are rarely square, so stripes get spaced to the wall you can actually see rather than measured off a corner that is out of plumb. John cuts these in by hand and seals the tape line before the second colour goes anywhere near it.

How it works
It lives or dies on the edges
Colour choice is the easy half. What people notice is whether the lines are straight and whether anything bled.
Set out to the room
Rooms are rarely square, so stripes and blocks get spaced against the wall you actually see rather than measured off a corner that is out of plumb.
Test on the wall
Large patches painted in place so you see the colour in your own light, morning and evening, before committing.
Base and seal the line
Base colour first, then the tape line sealed with that same colour so the feature coat has nothing to bleed under.
Cut in by hand
John cuts the edges himself. Tape gets pulled while the paint is still giving, which is what keeps the line sharp.

Frequently asked questions
No. John comes out, looks at the job with you and gives you an estimate on site, a written quote, or both. He handles every quote himself rather than sending someone else. On jobs far enough out that they need travel or a night away, those costs are quoted as part of the job so you can see them.
Every job carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee. John inspects at the preparation stage, which is where most problems are still cheap to fix, and again at the end. If something needs attention after that, call him.
Around $500 excluding GST. Below that the setup and travel usually cost more than the work is worth, and John will tell you straight rather than quote you something silly.
It depends on the surfaces more than the size, which is why there is no price list here. John prices per room, per hour, per square metre or per day depending on what suits the job, plus materials. The only accurate answer comes from him seeing it, and that visit is free.
