What to expect
Texture coating is a thicker, more forgiving finish than paint. On rendered and blockwork walls it bridges the hairline cracking that ordinary topcoats keep reopening, and it gives a consistent surface across patches that would otherwise flash through. It only works if the movement underneath has been dealt with first, so we cut out live cracks, repair them, and let them settle before anything gets built up over the top.

How it works
Deal with the cracks, then build over them
Texture coating hides hairline cracking, but only if the movement causing it has been sorted out first.
Read the cracks
Live structural movement and surface crazing look similar and need very different answers. John works out which you have before quoting.
Cut out and repair
Live cracks raked out, repaired and left to settle. Loose and drummy render comes off rather than getting coated over.
Seal and prime
A binding sealer over the repairs and the sound render so the build coat draws evenly across old and new.
Build and finish
Membrane or heavy-build coating applied to thickness, texture matched across patches, then topcoats in your colour.
